জুলাই গণ-অভ্যুত্থানের একটি আপাতবিরোধী বৈশিষ্ট্য এখনো যথেষ্ট মনোযোগ পায়নি। আন্দোলনের নেতৃত্বদানকারী তরুণেরা বাংলাদেশের উন্নয়ন থেকে পুরোপুরি বাদ পড়া কোনো প্রজন্ম ছিল না। বরং তারা অনেকেই সেই ‘উন্নয়নেরই সন্তান’—পিতা-মাতার তুলনায় বেশি শিক্ষিত, প্রযুক্তিতে দক্ষ, বিশ্ব সম্পর্কে সচেতন এবং নিজেদের ভবিষ্যৎ নিয়ে উচ্চাকাঙ্ক্ষী।
