On July 23, 2026, the Panam Institute officially marked its formal launch as an independent, non-partisan policy think tank dedicated to bridging the gap between academic research, evidence-based analysis, and actionable public policymaking. Hosted at Bistro E in Gulshan, Dhaka, our inaugural ceremony brought together stakeholders from across the policy landscape to address Bangladesh’s immediate economic priorities during a critical geopolitical and post-revolution transition period.

Our Journey: From Grassroots Discourse to Institution

The establishment of the Panam Institute represents the natural evolution of an informal network of anti-fascist economists and policy enthusiasts who came together on social media in the early 2020s to deliberate on Bangladesh’s emerging economic challenges. Following the 2024 Monsoon Revolution, the group launched the podcast Orthonitir Barota to popularize unconventional policy discussions and expand public engagement with key economic issues.
