Jyoti Rahman

An applied macroeconomist and macro-fiscal expert with the Fiscal Affairs Department of the International Monetary Fund, with more than a quarter century across macro-fiscal forecasting, public finance, economic growth, and international economics.

 

He served the Australian Government from 2001 to 2021 — principally at The Treasury — and has advised the Government of Bangladesh on medium-term macroeconomic issues and Bangladesh Bank on institutional reform. Through the IMF, he has supported countries across Central Asia and the Caucasus, MENA, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Pacific on fiscal risk, diagnostics, and reform. He is Executive Editor of the weekly Counterpoint.
